We will start the day with a holistic yoga practice that includes morning meditation, breathwork, kriyās, preliminary exercises, and āsanas.
Somatic Yoga draws on Somatics, Feldenkrais and Yoga Philosophy to promote whole-body participation in movement. There are many styles of Somatic Yoga since there is no set form. The emphasis on the inner felt sense, rather than the shape of the posture, allows for individual interpretation and adaptation to the individual's unique anatomy.
Why is what we eat relevant to our Yoga practice? How can what we eat affect our health? Explore the energetic qualities of foods and the Ayurvedic approach to our daily food habits. Consider how this affects how we approach our Yoga practice. Learn about the Ayurvedic daily routine, food recommendations for different constitutions, and how foods can be combined for optimum digestion. Hear about how optimum digestion is key to disease prevention.
Some variations and possibly lesser-known postures, although it's impossible to say who is familiar with what! Followed by a 30-minute nidrā from the Himalayan tradition to rest deeply towards the end of the day.
Immerse yourself in the soulful sounds of ancient mantras and devotional songs that will lift your spirits and open your heart. Let the music guide you to a place of inner peace and connection.
